A thankyou to @Winmau @BDODarts @BDOevents @EurosportUKTV for a brilliant weekend. Some amazing games shown all day, I was very honoured to be part of it, and loved every second, a full day of darts (8 hours approx) and wow what an exhilarating day, the crew from eurosport are fabulous, the guys really get in with the crowd and are very entertaining and you guys are getting better and better with each event. WELL DONE, Winmau Darts and the BDO - Official British Darts Organisation & BDO Events guys and galls gave us all some extra excitement by getting involved with the WDDA-World Disability Darts Association and showed us that your perseverance and love of the sport has made many people feel very proud to be part of your first staged event, and we hope that many more events will take place in the future, well done to Ricky Chilton the champion and Phil Lees (both champions)
I must say that Andy Fordham was just class, Ricky took on Andy for becoming the champion and this was just hilarious (with Little Richard forgetting to turn the board - DOUBLE 3! AND THAT BELCH - too funy you really put on a first class show and all credit to you, just awesome, you both had the crowd in fits of laughter wouldnt have missed it for the world.
The finals were brilliant and some world class darts were thrown from both the ladies and gents, some shock exists, but thats darts, you never can tell just who will get knocked out and who will come through and win.
I loved it all, seen some comments blaming the BDO for the power cut, but this was nothing to do with them or anyone else at the event, that one comes down to the Hull Fair draining all the juice!
Well done to all the players that took part in this prestigeous event, your are all superstars.
Congratulations to Anastasia Dobromyslova on winning the Winmau World Masters title - first class performance as always. And Fallon Sherrock you talent is amazing, and im sure one day you will take the title of many many events.
Well done to Martin Phillips who took the Mens Winmau World Masters title against Jamie Hughes. Just spectacular games, and nail-biting.
It was fantastic to meet lots of you, from members who I have not met in person (the Polish Ladies Alexandra and Yolande) to the well known darts author Dr Patrick Chaplin - what a gentleman and an honour to meet you (ive been mentioned in two of his books), to meeting the youth Champion Robyn Bryne and her representative of the republic of Ireland Ollie Monaghan (what a lovely young lady and great to talk to you both) keep doing what your doing, watch out for this lady in the future!
On a whole an amazing experience, met lots of new friends, sang a little danced a lot (hope that didnt get shown on eurosport! and had a blast
WELL DONE TO ALL INVOLVED FOR MAKING IT A FABULOUS WEEKEND
Love Julie xxx
