World champion Lisa Ashton was crowned the LDO Ladies Classic champion in Gainsborough on Saturday as she defeated Anastasia Dobromyslova in a tight final.

Ashton set up her final clash with the three-time world champion by defeating the nine-time world champion Trina Gulliver in the semi-finals of the fourth LDO Ladies Classic.

Ashton averaged 77.13 in her 4-1 win over ‘The Golden Girl’ in the semi-final before going on to hold her nerve in a tense final against Dobromyslova.

The pair played out a thrilling final, with a £1,000 prize on offer to the winner in Gainsborough, and Ashton clinched the title in style with a 12-dart leg to claim a 5-4 win over Dobromyslova.

Ashton was also in pairs action alongside Claire Brookin and reached the final with a 4-1 defeat of Juliet Findley and Chris Savvery in the semi-finals.

However, there was to be no double for Ashton as her and Brookin lost out to the team of Gulliver and Zoe Jones 4-2.
